FROM YOUR COMMUNITY MANAGER
I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THE VOLUNTEERS AND STAFF IN TANGLEWOOD BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER HURRICANE IRMA!!!
The amount of camaraderie and compassion for others shown during all of this has been truly beautiful! Neighbors helping neighbors, everyone working together towards a common goal. I have said it before and I will say it again, “THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE TANGLEWOOD!”
From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate each and every volunteer and Team Tanglewood (staff) for all of your hard work and especially for your dedication to the community!!!
I know some events and meetings were cancelled due to the hurricane. We are looking forward to October, getting back to our regular schedule, and the return of our northern friends and family!
GRAND RE-OPENING POOL PARTY
Come and join us at the pool Grand Re-Opening party on October 6th. Of course the pool will be available to use before then but this will be the official party.
Lee Allcorn will be here performing and we will be serving beer, wine, and sodas. We will also have a raffle for 4 wine baskets.
All provided for you by Hometown America.
BEAUTIFICATION RECOGNITION FOR OCTOBER 2017
The Beautification Recognition is at the home of Jerry & Judy Donaldson, 1683 Primrose Lane.
This beautiful yard and well-groomed home is appreciated by all our residents. The judging includes a well maintained yard, clean exterior of the home, as well as maintained plants and shrubs.
Each month we will recognize a home with beautifully maintained yard. The Award sign will be in the yard for one month. A resident committee chooses a yard each month, and there are several guidelines they must follow.
FROM THE ACTIVITIES OFFICE
Come out and join us for our Octoberfest on Sunday, October 15th, from 6-9 in the clubhouse. We will be serving wraps and subs from Publix, along with chips, beer, wine, and sodas.
We will also have karaoke for those of you who would like to sing. Bring sides to share with your friends if you wish.
Please remember to wear your ID badge.
TANGLEWOOD NEWSLETTER DELIVERY
We almost have enough volunteers to deliver the newsletter to all of the neighborhoods throughout the winter months (starting in Nov). We need a few substitutes. No one will be asked to deliver more than 40 newsletters. Many areas are 25 – 30 houses.
There will be a meeting of all volunteers and substitutes in the clubhouse (bingo area) on MONDAY, OCTOBER 16th, after coffee. At this time you will be assigned the streets in your neighborhood that you will be responsible for. You will be given a map and instructions for contacting a substitute if you cannot deliver on any given month.
Please try to make this meeting.
If anyone else would like to volunteer, you may attend this meeting, or contact Penny Irilli 863 835-1435, or

SATURDAY OCTOBER 7, 2017 FEATURING GOOD STUFF
Good stuff started as a father/daughter duo based in Lakeland Florida. Their “full sound” is unique and rich with family harmonies.
Tony, guitarist and songwriter, has been a professional musician for over 50 years. Throughout the years, tony has performed at nightclubs, events around New England and Florida. In addition, he has written many songs for Tricia to record and perform.
For Tricia, music and singing has always been a part of her life. She began performing at age 5, and recorded her first “45” record when she was 9. The record contained 2 songs she co-wrote with her dad.
Good stuff now performs primarily as a trio, with Tony’s wife Jennifer on backup vocals. As a trio they specialize in high energy dance music with impeccable 3 part harmony. More recently they have been performing on cruise ships. They are very popular and a must see. They are so busy i was unable to book them in 2018. You won’t want to miss this dance.
Remember doors open at 6:30 with dance from 7-10 pm. Residents are $5 with badge, visitors $6. Bring your own drinks and snacks. Ice will be provided..

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR THE OUTDOOR DECORATING COMMITTEE
We are not a large committee but have a LOT of work to be done. In addition to the huge display in the circle, and all the banners around Tanglewood, we will be placing 40 lighted Christmas trees around the ponds, and hanging over 35 – 30” wreaths (that need bows). In addition, we will be wrapping over 40 trees with lights.
Needless to say we could use some help getting all this done. We could also use some help at Monday Morning Coffee selling our various “fund raiser” things.
We would LOVE to have you on our committee……….. or we would be more than glad to have you make a small commitment to help when needed.
If you can help in any way……….Please get in touch with Gary Walker 757 642-5559, Jan Carbaugh 616 901-4267 or Penny Irilli 863 835-1435.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
It’s already October, and time to think about the Annual Christmas Food Drive for the Heartland Food Bank. This is the 16th year the RV Club has sponsored the Food Drive. We want to tell you about two early activities that have been done in the past to help us raise money to feed those in need of a Christmas dinner. The need will be greater than ever this year because of Hurricane Irma.
The Bingo Committee has traditionally done a special night of Bingo in early November. They have also included a special 50/50 drawing with this event. We hope they will continue to support this very worthy cause.
On Saturday, November 11, the Food Drive will have tables at the Craft Fair. We’re getting donations from some of Tanglewood’s very talented crafters, and the RV Club members will be donating baked goods for the sale. If you are involved in any kind of crafts, we hope you will consider making a donation to help us raise money.
You may drop off any donations to Sandra and Curt McMenamy at 4164 Smoke Signal.
Please support us by attending the Craft Fair.
