Tanglewood Art League
You are cordially invited to join us at our
Eighth Annual Tanglewood Art Show!
Our January Tanglewood Art League exhibition and sale is a treat to behold. It is, arguably our biggest and best program of the year.
It will be held in our Tanglewood Community Clubhouse on Saturday, January 20 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. The 2018 theme is “The Painting Masters.”
Joyce Robbins, committee chair, and her committee helpers and TAL member participants have planned long and hard to assure that those joining us will have a relaxing, inspiration and enjoyable Saturday afternoon.
The event is open to all Tanglewood residents and the surrounding community. Admission is free and light refreshments will be served.
As we do each year, there will be a raffle drawing to benefit our scholarship fund. We will have two raffle items (shown and described below).
Raffle Item #1 (above left): Digital Photograph by Karla Respress, Visual Arts Instructor at South Florida State College. This photo, titled Pygmy Fringe Tree, is of an endangered wildflower that grows in the sandy hill scrubs of Central Florida. Karla holds a Master’s Degree in Art Education from the University of Central Florida. She enjoys working in many media – especially acrylics, clay and photography.
Raffle Item #2 (above right): Sea Mist, an Acrylic Painting by Virginia Eisen, Tanglewood Art League Member. In Virginia’s words: “Learning to paint has always been on my bucket list: so, after I retired in 2007, I started painting lessons with a local artist; read a few art books; and went to a couple of classes that were offered through local art groups. I have been painting ever since!”
The money collected from the raffled art is awarded to a student artist attending South Florida State College, and will be awarded at its Juried Student Art Exhibition held at the college in April.
As always, all the art displayed at our TAL Exhibition and Sale is presented by resident artists of the Tanglewood Art League.
