Entertainer for the Saturday, June 16th dance is Thomas McGannon.

He is a wonderful vocalist who plays guitar and keyboard. He features music from 50’s thru the 80’s. He’ll entertain you with songs from Elvis, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Frank Sinatra, and Tom Jones to name a few. He plays to your dance and listening pleasure. Don’t hear the songs you like or know, remember he takes requests.

The June dance has a special flair to it. Each guy attending this dance will be given a ticket for a special drawing. There will be a drawing for a $ 25 gift card to Harbor Freight. This is to celebrate Father’s Day.

The Progressive Jackpot is continuing this summer. In a separate drawing we draw a house or outback lot number each dance.

The winning criteria is: Tanglewood resident, present at the dance, and have your name badge with you at dance. If jackpot is not won, it increases by $10 each dance to a max of $180, and stays there until won.

The Pet sign up folder has returned to the credenza for those who need to add their information. More information will be forthcoming each week at morning coffee.
Items to Bring:

  • Cage – enclosed for pet to sleep
  • Walmart sells them for $30.00 Maggie’s size
  • Food – preferably dry food, 3 days
  • Sheet or cover to go over the cage at night

Don’t forget your pet!!
Please complete the Pet sign- up sheet on the credenza with your name, pet’s name, breed, weight, and your cell phone number.

As of Monday, May 8th, we had 36 animals sign up. If you will be living here in Tanglewood this summer from June – September, and have a pet you would want to bring with you in case of a hurricane, please sign them up.

You must stay in the building if your pet comes to the pet shelter. No drop offs.

There will not be a lottery this year, however, there will be a sign in sheet for the owners to schedule themselves for at least one hour ‘watchdog’ time in the community room with the pets, while we are inside the building.

There will be a sitting area designated. (Will have the sign in sheet available once we know we will be coming to the shelter.) The animals will have adult supervision at all times.

In order to accommodate all animals, there will NOT be an area designated to sleep beside your pet. (Bring some anxiety meds for yourself if needed, but Fido must stay in the community room at night).

Signs will be printed and placed on the cage with the animal’s name, owner name, phone #, and location in the building if we need to contact you if your pet is having issues.

Hopefully, we will not need to utilize this process, but we want to be prepared in case Irma’s big brother decides to swoop over Sebring.

Thank you for your cooperation.

PS: We will be setting up a drill/practice/demo for the pet area soon for those to see how the room will be set up if needed.

There will be a volunteer sheet for owners who wish to help out with the set up and take down of the room.

The summer season is upon us, but there are still many activities going on here in Tanglewood. The RV Club has some suggestions for you to consider. At your next gathering of friends, be it a planned evening of cards, a club/committee activity, or a neighborhood gathering, work on a way to help raise money for the annual Christmas Food Drive.

You could do a 50/50 drawing. Perhaps do a game of cards, petanque, bowling, golf, pickleball and set a price on points. It could be a penny, a nickel, or a dollar a point with the proceeds going to the RV Club’s Food Drive.

We’re asking that you help us get off to a good start by keeping the Christmas Food Drive in mind at your gatherings this summer.

Any amount helps us, and is greatly appreciated.

Heather Paine is the RV Club contact person. Her address is 2610 Lazy Days Lane, and you can reach her at 508-274-4113.If you need 50/50 tickets, or have money to drop off, she is the person to see.
