SOME NEW IDEAS!
The summer season is upon us, but there are still many activities going on here in Tanglewood. The RV Club has some suggestions for you to consider.
At your next gathering of friends, be it a planned evening of cards, a club/committee activity, or a neighborhood gathering, work on a way to help raise money for the annual Christmas Food Drive.
You could do a 50/50 drawing. Perhaps do a game of cards, petanque, bowling, golf, pickleball and set a price on points. It could be a penny, a nickel, or a dollar a point with the proceeds going to the RV Club’s Food Drive.
We’re asking that you help us get off to a good start by keeping the Christmas Food Drive in mind at your gatherings this summer.
Any amount helps us, and is greatly appreciated. Heather Paine is the RV Club contact person. Her address is 2610 Lazy Days Lane, and you can reach her at 508-274-4113.If you need 50/50 tickets, or have money to drop off, she is the person to see.

DIVERSIONS HEATS UP THE SUMMER
July is going to be a month of fun here in Tanglewood.
Diversions starts out with the traditional Golf Cart Parade on July 4. Line up around 8:30 to start off at 9:00.
Veterans Up Front PLEASE! Carts don’t need to be decorated, all we need is a smile on the driver!
If you don’t have a golf cart, we’ll find you a spot with someone who has room. The route is posted in the Clubhouse. Due to the heat not every street will be covered. The parade should last no more than 45 minutes.
Then come back to the Clubhouse for the big Pot Luck at 5:30. Sign Up in advance because Hometown America is providing fried chicken for those who have pre-registered.
No cost for the meal but there will be a 50/50 raffle. Diversions is providing the plates, napkins, and silverware, BYOB!
July 9 – Come play Sevens in the Community Room. 1:00, quick lesson at 12:30. $2 will buy you 20 chips, which is usually enough for the afternoon. (More are available if your luck is bad). Prizes paid out in cash, and there will be ice cream after the game.
July 18 – something new. Bob Larocque is introducing a take-off of the Golf Cart Poker runs, this one is played indoors (no weather concerns). It’s called Blind Draw. Players go to 5 different tables set up and draw 3 cards at each. Points are awarded randomly by suit, so nobody knows who has a good hand and who has not until the very end.
This afternoon (1:00) is a Beta Test of the game, to introduce it to the community, and work out any snags that might happen before the snowbirds come back and we do it for real. Free today, there is a sign-up sheet so we can plan for – you guessed it – ice cream.
Look ahead to October 20. Diversions is planning a Lip Sync Contest as a fund raiser for the RV Club’s food drive.
Assemble a team, anywhere from 1 person to a dozen or more, and choose a song to lip sync to. No Singing!
You’ll go crazy with costumes and props as you sync to the CD you’ve given to the Tech Guys. $10 to register a team, and there will be a fabulous prize for the winner.
Management has been challenged to field at least one team to compete. And all profits go to the Food Drive. Registration will begin around August 1. Contact Shirley Kabet for more information.
