Hats off to the Seasonal residents! We know you read the TWRTimes while you’re spending half your life Up North. We want to you know that our summer contests are open to you also, as well as we full timers!
We’re talking about the Limerick contest, and the hidden icons. For the Limericks, just write one. Period. It needs to be original, and if it references seniors or snowbirding or Tanglewood, so much the better. For a refresher, a Limerick is a 5-line poem, usually humorous but not necessarily. Lines 1, 2, and 5 must rhyme, and lines 3 and 4 rhyme with each other. Normally lines 3 and 4 are shorter than the others. Write them up and send them to editor@twrtimes. You will receive a confirmation, if you don’t, try again. My email is wonky sometimes. On August 6 the judges will announce the winner. If you’re not in residence we will either hold the $25 cash for you or send it to wherever you are.
The second contest is the hidden icons. Check the article entitled “And the Winners Are” to see the little grey and black kitten, which is this month’s icon. Including the introductory article, there are 4 kittens hidden in the pages of the TWRT. When you find them all, send me the exact locations and be entered into the random drawing for another $25 cash prize. Again, editor@twrtimes, and wait for the confimation.
So simple. And not only will you be keeping up with the local news, but you have a chance to win some money.
