On July 13, 2018, Team Tanglewood staff was able to join the water volleyball league and play a few rounds. With corporate’s blessing, we will be playing again this month. {{{{{SAVE THE DATE: August 24th }}}}} Play will begin at 1:30 PM, and end at 3:00 PM. Please come join us for some FUN in the Sun!! If you don’t play, please come cheer us on. The business and activities offices will be closing at 1:00 PM for this event.

Birthday Committee: I would like to put together a committee to help gather and keep up with birthdays in the community. Each month we could publish a birthday list in the activities and events schedule. No worries, we won’t post your age. If you would be interested in volunteering, please call or send me an email letting me know you are interested. If I get enough feedback, I’ll schedule a meeting and get the Birthday list going!!

Gate Directory: the telephone line at the US 27 entry gate has been updated and is able to dial long distance cell phone numbers. If you would like to have your cell phone number listed in the directory at the gate system for your guests to access you directly for entry, please contact the business office (in writing) with the number you would like to have added.

August is traditionally known as one of the hottest months. With that being said, there are plenty of indoor activities for you to keep cool. You can work out in the a/c in our fitness center, read a book in the library, or play games and do crafts in the Community and Craft rooms at the Clubhouse. Come out and join us at Monday Morning Coffee to see what other fun activities are planned, or you can watch from the comfort of your home on Comcast Channel 195.

I meet with residents after Monday Morning Coffee in the Community Room. I’m there until 9:30 a.m., or you can contact me via phone, through email, or in person by appointment. Making an appointment would be best so that I can set aside time to meet with you without any interruptions.

I look forward to seeing you!!

SOME NEW IDEAS!
The summer season is upon us, but there are still many activities going on here in Tanglewood.

The RV Club has some suggestions for you to consider. At your next gathering of friends, be it a planned evening of cards, a club/committee activity, or a neighborhood gathering, work on a way to help raise money for the annual Christmas Food Drive.

You could do a 50/50 drawing. Perhaps do a game of cards, petanque, bowling, golf, pickleball and set a price on points. It could be a penny, a nickel, or a dollar a point with the proceeds going to the RV Club’s Food Drive.

We’re asking that you help us get off to a good start by keeping the Christmas Food Drive in mind at your gatherings this summer.

Any amount helps us, and is greatly appreciated.Heather Paine is the RV Club contact person. Her address is 2610 Lazy Days Lane, and you can reach her at 508-274-4113.If you need 50/50 tickets, or have money to drop off, she is the person to see.

SUMMER BUNCO
Come out and join us for our last month of Summer Bunco on August 6th & 27th in the Main Hall. Cost is $5.00 to play. All money is paid back in prize money.

Lip Synch Contest – Fund Raiser for the RV Club Christmas Food Drive

RULES AND INFO:

  • Any resident OR employee of Tanglewood is encouraged to form a team to compete. A team may be one person or a dozen or more.
  • Choose the song you want to perform to, and get copy of it to the Tech Committee by October 10. You will NOT be singing, just mouthing the words, or lip synching. You provide your own props and costumes. There will not be a stage crew to assist.
  • TMAC Committees, neighborhoods, clubs and singles, office workers, groundskeepers, and maintenance, are welcome to register a team. That way everyone can join in. Be creative, synch your song to your activity. Or pick your own very favorite song from days gone by. Channel your inner Elvis, Patti Page, John Denver, Madonna, or Pete Seeger.
  • Judging will be done by audience applause, so be sure to have all your friends and neighbors come to cheer for your team. A fabulous prize will be awarded to the winner. But the real winner here will be the RV Club’s Christmas food drive.
  • Team Registration: $10, non-refundable. Change your chosen song up until October 1. Cash or a check to HEARTLAND FOOD BANK is acceptable.
  • You can register, and participate in as many teams as you’d like.

Fill out registration forms on the credenza or from Billie’s office. If more than one team chooses the same song, the team with the earlier paid registration will get it.
