AN EVERLASTING WORD

Bless those who hurt you!!

“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them.” Romans 12:14 ESV

How do you react when someone mistreats you or does something that brings heart ache into you life? Most of us get angry or bitter. We want to lash out or pay the person back for the attack on us or the mistreatment. We think of ways to pay the person back. All of these feelings and emotions are natural. In many cases society says the person got what they deserved because they should never have mistreated you and it is only right that you be able to pay them back. In most cases your friends and family will take your side and will say the person who hurt you or mistreated you got what they deserved.

But when you pay back hurt with a hurt does that really change anything. Does it make things better or is there the possibility that in most cases it makes matters worse. Does it make you a better person to do to others what they have done to you. Does it make them sorry for what they have done to you or does it help them to feel justified in their actions towards you? I think the latter is what occurs in most cases. As always the Word of God gives us the right direction we need to take when a person does us wrong! We need to turn the other cheek! To find some way to do a kindness for them or to show love and forgiveness. In this way in most cases they will regret what they have done. If they don’t at least you will know that you have done the right thing. Never avenge yourselves, but allow God to judge the persons actions. God will make the right decision on the action to take!! An Everlasting Word!!!!
