Introduction: This Psalm is a whole list of trails and hardships Israel had experienced from Abraham to David’s day. And David is encouraging Israel and us to give thanks to God for His faithfulness and blessings through everyone of them! As we enjoy the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons may our gratitude grow as we remember who God is and what He has done for us, beginning with God giving us His Son to die for us to pay our sin debt and give us Heaven! How can we ever say thanks? The only way we can appropriately say thank you to the Lord is through Thankful living in all things
Conclusion: As we remember the Lord’s goodness, grace and faithfulness to us today, may we praise Him for who He is and thank Him for what He has and is doing for us. May we always be reminded (not just at this time of year; but all year, to “Oh give thanks to the Lord.” This is the secret that will lead us to thankful living!

Introduction: Companies and organizations today spend millions of dollars carefully considering and investing in how to communicate to the public their message. Companies will often do this using “jingles.” According to Charles R. Taylor, Professor of Marketing at Villanova University; Consumers like and have fond memories of many jingles. Over a period of time, they can conjure up good memories that are then associated with the brand. I believe God’s people would be wise to give this same consideration into how to faithfully and correctly communicate to the world who our God is and what He has done! And to live our lives as a thanksgiving song or jingle to the Lord! Especially since we have a mandate from God to tell the world of His Great grace and salvation plan for everyone! Introduction: If you ever have the privilege of visiting with Christians in some foreign and poorer countries as I have had a few times, you will find yourself both blessed and convicted.
While God has enabled countless Christians worldwide to “go to the heights” of poverty, persecution, and suffering; they have learned that God is enough! He is all they need. He is more than they need. And, with this elusive truth comes great strength, joy and Thanksgiving! The secret is, true joy and thankful living are found only in God. And, discovering this truth is “The secret to Thankful Living!” The Psalmist tells us to “Oh give thanks to the Lord! Call upon His name! (or call Him by name!) Why?
Conclusion: God reveals Himself to us through His names and as we know and understand His names and relate them to our needs and fears in our lives, the more we will enjoy knowing our God and being thankful to Him! Thanking God by His name is the secret to thankful living because, “Really Thankful people, are the people who really know the Lord and they call upon His name!”

Introduction: Are you a thankful person? I think for the most part, most of us would like to think we are thankful people. We are quickly approaching that thanksgiving season, when we are reminded to be thankful for all we have. But, is thanksgiving only a season? I don’t think so. What I want us to take away from today and over the next four weeks is, to learn the secret to thankful living, all year long! Here are four things really thankful people practice.
