BBBL-Bean Bag Baseball Week 3

And then there was one….The National Division co-leaders the Dynamites, are the only team still undefeated in the BBBL after Week 3.  Thanks to their 4 wins and 2 ties, the Dynamites blast into a tie for top spot with the Firecrackers (5 wins and 1 loss)….both teams now have 10 pts.

The American Division remains super tight but unchanged, with all teams on Wednesday splitting their series. As mentioned last article, the Pioneers first win was coming soon….and it did.  Lets get to the Week 3 Action….

PATRIOTS vs GRASSHOPPERS.  The upstart Patriots scored early while the Grasshoppers were shooting blanks until late in Game 1, Patriots 7 Grasshoppers 2. Game 2 saw the Grasshoppers come alive and reverse the outcome and remain tied for top spot in the American with their 7-3 win over the Pats.

LIGHTNING vs TOSS UPS. Big innings usually set the tone for any game. The Toss Ups wasted no time bringing 7 runs across in the first inning taking Game 1 by the score of 11-6. Game 2 saw the Lightning strike multiple times, earning the split with a convincing 11-4 win over the co-leaders of the American Division.

PIONEERS vs SOMEBODIES. The Somebodies can score runs and in bunches as the Pioneers witnessed first hand in Game 1.  Somebodies 18 Pioneers 3 nuff said. Now last week I did mention the Pioneers are not quitters and had some power lurking in their lineup as well…..and a win was coming soon. I think the Pioneers even surprised themselves in Game 2, falling behind early before starting to fire on all cylinders.  Pioneers 13 Somebodies 11 earning them their first win and GAME OF THE WEEK.

WS EXPRESS vs DYNAMITES. The Dynamites are for real and this week showed their power by sweeping the Express in their series. Game 1 saw some big innings as the Dynamites blast the Express 17-8. Game 2 was close with the Express taking an 8-5 lead into the last inning….only to AGAIN see another game slip away in the last inning….oh man! Dynamites rally for 6 runs and win 11-8.

BAG LADIES vs BB BUSTERS. In our lowest scoring affair of the evening the runs were few but both teams sure had fun. I have to mention the most artistic score cards handed in too…..Who knew so much could be done with a zero?? Our Bag Ladies held on for a 4-3 win in Game 1.  The BB Busters took the late game 4-1 to even the series.

BB BURNERS vs FIRECRACKERS. Tied for top spot in the National, the Firecrackers extended their win streak to 5 games with their 10-3 win over the Burners in Game 1. All good things do come to an end as the BB Burners in Game 2 played homerun derby in the 4th inning scoring 8 runs on their way to a 10-7 win over the Firecrackers.

Standings will be posted after Week 4.
