Thank you so much to Harvey & Ethel Donald, and Ted & Carol Jeter for hosting our rally to Upriver RV Resort in North Fort Myers.  As usual, they planned a rally full of fun-filled events for our members.

We play Bunco once a month in the Activity Center.  Well tonight we had 44 women and just before we were ready to start playing at 6:30 PM the lights went out.  Well, you could imagine how 44 women reacted to not being able to play.

Well my husband brought 3 flashlights and some other women went home to get little lamps and more flashlights.  This was not going to stop us die-hards from playing Bunco.

We played like that for 1 hour when the lights came back on.  We had a great time regardless of no electricity.  We now realize how they did it in the olden days.

The Ladies’ Luncheon was held Jan 19 in the Clubhouse.  Those that attended either brought an appetizer or salad or dessert to share.  We had plenty of food.  Yummy, yummy  After we ate,there was a fashion show. Well, not exactly trendy!  I would call the outfits “over the top” for the fashion conscious. Thanks to the models, Ann Hudson, and all the helpers.  “Thank you” to all who attended.

It’s mid winter, and that means it’s time for another one of the TWRTimes’s fabulous contests. Every month we will give you two photographs, and all you have to do is identify the people in them. But there’s a hitch.

This does not stay active forever – you must renew every 5 years.

There seems to be some confusion concerning garbage days for the Outback homes. According to the office, since our garbage is picked up by the Park not the garbage company, there is no change to our schedule.  Therefore, continue to put your garbage out on Tuesday and Friday.

The offices will be closed January 2, 2012 and there will be no “Coffee Time” or blood pressures on that Monday. Our Community Manager, Robert Lethbridge, his family and our entire staff at Tanglewood Hometown America would like to wish you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah and Happy Holidays.

We also broadcast Monday Coffees on Channel 195 if you have a Comcast digital box and we broadcast the Coffee audio right here on the Home Page in the right column under "Tanglewood Videos and Audio".

Election Day February 13, 2012

All committees will be represented with sign-up sheets. If you are interested in an activity, your talents are needed and there is always something you can do, no matter what your physical condition or limitations. On previous Mondays each committee was represented so you could ask questions about how they work.

The following is the Dance Schedule for the Tanglewood 2012 Season:

Three of the ladies in Adele Dods’s Needlework Arts club are knitting or crocheting bandages for a leper colony in Vietnam.  This project was originated by the D.O.V.E. (Development Of Vietnam Endeavors).

Special Activities closed its 2011 year in high style with Vegas Night on Friday, January 20.  Hundreds of residents came through the doors to have dinner and then play some of the games.  Some won, some didn’t.  The Highlands County food pantries were the biggest winner.

Members of the Tanglewood Art League treated us to a stunning display of fine art on Saturday January 21.  Sixteen artists turned the clubhouse into a gallery of paintings, photography, collage, ceramics and a wooden garden cart.
