I received several recommendations to give Galati’s Family Restaurant a try.
We arrived “early” as recommended, about 5:00 p.m. on a Tuesday. It was good recommendation because about 6:00 p.m. is was pretty busy. It is nice they have enough seating for larger groups to dine in. The décor has a lot of nostalgic pictures they have collected over the years that entertained us as we waited for our food. They proudly display several Reader’s Favorite Awards they received from the Highlands News-Sun from 2013 to 2017.
Galati’s offers a variety of appetizers, toasted subs, pasta dinners, pizza, and wings – all reasonably priced.
We ordered our usual favorites from our friendly and helpful server Sam – pepperoni pizza and spaghetti with meatballs.
The pizza crust was perfect-not too thick and not too thin, a hearty sauce, generous cheese, and pepperoni. It did ALMOST move up to my favorite pizza in Sebring but I have trouble with the pepperoni hiding under the cheese. I like it on top of the cheese. It’s just a personal preference.
The spaghetti and meatballs were good and came with one trip to the salad bar. The salad bar was a bit of a disappointment since the bowls were very small and there only a few items to choose from on it.
Galati’s serves Coke products and ice tea along with a small selection of domestic beer options and wine.
Galati’s is located at 637 S. Commerce Avenue in Sebring.
Hours are Tuesday thru Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
They are closed on Sunday and Monday AND typically close July 1st until after Labor Day for vacation.
We would also recommend Galati’s when you would like some Italian – my motto is “Buy Local-Support Local” when you can!!
