WHO? (World Health Organization)

It's Not a Hoax.

The Corona Virus.  The name alone sounds like a beer commercial, but it’s not meant to be funny. While there are around 160 Florida residents who tested positive for the virus, according to the latest news. This number differs from national figures due to where the person was located at the time of the testing.

Of all the things to go MIA, Toilet Paper was not on the list and caught merchants by surprise. Liquid Hand sanitizers and sprays were the obvious items nearly every store would run out of, but why TP? Actually, the BEST way to prevent the spread of germs is soap and water. Hand sanitizers do kill germs, but the germs are still on your hands until washed off with soap and water. Hand washing is among the leading ‘errors’ that hospitals get dinged for when ‘Joint Commission’ drops in for a surprise visit. Patients are asked if they actually see their nurse wash their hands or foam before touching them. Wearing latex or vinyl gloves is a another way to protect yourself from the germs. The face mask is also a deterrent some people are beginning to wear. Usually those who already have compromised immune systems.

Even if doing and wearing all of those things just mentioned, self isolation is still yet another great way to stop the spread of this infectious bug! We’re getting there, one day at a time through the wise counsel of the CDC.

Most of us youngsters, between the ages of 55- 65, have not experienced a diseased threat to our nation or economy. Our grandparents did, with polio, measles outbreaks, and more, that are now taken care of with a vaccine to immunize our kids and grandkids. Many died from those outbreaks.

We really do need to suck it up and quit whining about a few ‘weeks’ out of our busy lives that we have no  activities to play with here in ‘Tangle-Disney-Wood’. HTA is arming us with the preventive disaster plans by keeping us informed and protected. We live in a special ‘somewhat magical’ place here in Tanglewood. We survived a hurricane named Irma nearly three years ago. We can get through this one too, but perhaps it’s time to ‘Let Jesus take the Wheel’. Our physical well being is connected with our spiritual well being. The Corona Virus is here, and it’s real, and we need to pay attention to what our leaders are asking us to do. Then make your peace with God and He will either calm the storm, or be by your side to calm you while riding out the storm.
