THE ROOST AT FOUR SEASONS RESTAURANT. I bet you’ve passed it a time or two and either didn’t notice it OR you noticed all the cars parked in front of it along US 27.
THE ROOST (for short) is located at 5298 Hwy 27, in Frostproof. If you’re heading towards Lake Wales it’s located on the left-hand side of the road just across from the Sun Ray water tower. It’s a short 20-minute drive from Tanglewood, and in my opinion it’s worth the trip!
They are open 7 days a week from 7:00 am-2:30 pm. All employees are wearing
masks and tables are staged to accommodate social distancing. The restaurant is family owned and offers American style breakfasts, lunch, and daily specials. I feel their prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous.
Now that we have the small details out of the way, I’ll continue to toot my own horn about much we like THE ROOST. For starters it’s clean, cheerful and nicely decorated. We have always been immediately greeted at the door and normally don’t have to wait for a table because I try to time things to avoid “the wait”. We’re seated, given a menu, and our drink orders are promptly taken and received. Once we’ve ordered the food is out quickly and always hot and nicely prepared.
The menu at THE ROOST is extensive and has something for everyone. Breakfast offerings include all the things we want like waffles, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy, egg sandwiches and wraps, Benedicts, omelets, bowls, even steaks, pork chops, and more. They have it all! You can order breakfast all day long.
If you’re there for lunch they offer daily specials, burgers, appetizers, salads, an array of sandwiches and wraps and larger entrees like chicken parmesan, country fried steak, Hawaiian chicken, liver and onions, fish and shrimp along with an assortment of side dishes. Sometimes on Tuesday you’ll find chicken and dumplings as one of the specials. If you’re looking for some comfort food this is by far the best I’ve had – the dumplings are perfect and there is more chicken in the dish than I’ve received any where else.
If you are on social media like Facebook or Instagram, look them up. That is where I gathered these photos to share with you. I will add that you should check them out in person too!
