MANAGER’S CORNER

Hello Tanglewood,
I just wanted to take the time to update you on the projects that have been completed or that we are currently working on. We have been busy working on several projects in 2021, please read on for the list.

We are happy to announce that the following projects are completed, We had new concrete slabs poured at the Outback area, A/C at the clubhouse, replaced a pool pump, new pool heater, shuffleboard court repairs, new ice machine by the main laundry (will notify when they have been open up for use), new computer boards for the LED sign, camera boards replaced at the front gate, 2 new mowers and maintenance carts. We have started replacing the old mulch with white rock and redoing the flower beds at the clubhouse, circle and activities building.

Other upcoming projects to be on the lookout for:

  • All new street signs stop signs and speed limit signs are being changed out at this time.
  • The sign project will be completed by the end of July.
  • New light at the Parking lot of the main laundry.
  • We will be renumbering the storage area by the end of Aug.
  • New pool lift chair to be installed by the end of July.
  • New Gate call box to be installed date TBD.

Road and storm drain work was started in April, it will continue to be done throughout the community in the coming months. At the time we started we were not aware that the asphalt plant was going to be down. They will let us know when it is back up and running and we will continue the areas that we have for the 2021 year.

There are some areas that were patched to keep from having holes in the road, they were temporary and will be redone at that time.

Thank you for your patience as we continue to get these projects done.

GET YOUR TANGLEWOOD TAG
As a fund raiser for the Outdoor Decorating Committee we are selling Tanglewood License Plate Tags.

As you all know, this past year has been very difficult for all of us and due to Covid-19. The Outdoor Decorating Committee was not able to do some of our fundraising events. We came up with this idea to help raise money so that we can continue to make Light up Tanglewood bigger and better than ever before.

The license plates are $10.00 a piece and can be purchased from the following people: Jan @ 616-901-4268 and Phil @ 231-740-9113.

All proceeds from tag sales will go right back into our Tanglewood Community.

We appreciate all of your support over the years and hope we can continue to help beautify our community.

TMAC OVERVIEW

It Was the Best of Times. It Was the Worst of Times. It was the worst of times for our new residents who purchased their homes in Tanglewood during the Covid-19 pandemic. The active adult lifestyle that was promised to you pre-Covid shut down. The TMAC committees “went dark” for a year and a half.

TMAC stands for Tanglewood Master Activities Committee. TMAC’s purpose is to oversee all the specialized individual committees; of which there are currently twenty-five. These committees, as with all other activities within Tanglewood, are volunteer based.

There are six sport related committees, eight service-related committees, five for various entertainment, four for meals, and two “miscellaneous” committees.

Over the next few weeks, we will briefly look at each of the twenty-five committees, provide you an overview of each committee and provide all necessary contact information. We encourage you to join the committees that you have an interest in.

TMAC was established with the intent to benefit all Tanglewood residents. Not all committees generate income; but those that do generate income help to fund the non-income generating committees. As an example of income producing committees, Trips and Travel, Special Meals, Special Events. As an example of non-income producing committees, Indoor Decorating and Table Games.

In this article we will deal with the sports committees. Those committees are as follows:
