The Activities and Business Offices will be closed in honor of Memorial Day on Monday, May 30th.

The Beautification Recognition is at the home of Bill and Patti Papa, 2880 Whistle Stop. Congratulations!! This beautiful yard and well-groomed home is appreciated by all our residents. The judging includes a well maintained yard, a clean exterior of the home, as well as maintained plants and shrubs. Each month we will recognize a home with a beautifully maintained yard. The Award sign will be in the yard for one month. A resident committee chooses a yard each month, and there are several guidelines they must follow.

Aloha! The drinks are frozen, the theme is set, and we’re having a Hawaiian party at the pool. Music dressed contest and goodies to take away, dress up Hawaiian for an afternoon that will be a tropical blast!

Please join us on the pool deck on May 24th from 2 pm to 4 pm for island music and non-alcoholic frozen drinks. Bring your snacks and come have fun.

Red Hot Babes, meet on the 1st Monday of every month at 11:00 am in the Craft Room.

The new schedule is now available for all of the dances to the New Year. We all hope that you will come and be part of our Party Dance Crew and Dance Committee Dances. We have County, Rock, Oldies, something for everyone. Check out the new schedule. We have great door prizes along with tons of fun.

Party Dance Crew on the 7th in the Clubhouse for the first time in Tanglewood will be Calico from 7 to 10 pm.

This will be our Summer Celebration and we will have the baths ready for your favorite Jell-O shots to share with everyone. We always have lots of delicious recipes show up and I’m sure this time will not disappoint. This promises to be fun for all.

TMAC Dance Committee onMay 28th in the Clubhouse will be Durham and Gwen again to entertain everyone. George and Gwen have been to Tanglewood several times and of course will make it a fun evening.

Remember to get your tickets at Monday Morning Coffee, Thursday afternoons from 1:00-2:00 pm in the Clubhouse foyer, Thursday night Bunco or at Deb’s house (2825 Whistle Stop).

On the night of the dances those residents with tickets are able to get in the Upper Veranda of the clubhouse at 6:00 pm and those without tickets come in the front door at 6:15 pm. It’s definitely an advantage to get your tickets ahead of time.

Those residents that have New Kollection tickets that we canceled on March 13th are able to use those tickets at any of the Party Dance Crew Dances. Thank you for your support when we had to do some rearranging.

Party Dance Crew Bunco in May will be on Thursday evenings in the Clubhouse on the 5th, 19th, and 26th. (There will be no BUNCO on the 12th due to a conflict) Doors open at 6:00 pm and it is $5.00 per person. (small bills please) YOU MUST WEAR YOUR BADGE.

Registered guests are invited with their name tag. BUNCO is a very easy dice game to play so don’t worry if you do not know-how. You will pick it up quickly. Come on out, have some fun and maybe win some money.

The Second Tuesday Food Drive will be collecting your donations on Tuesday, May 10th. As always, have your sack of non-perishable food and/or toiletries out at the foot of your driveway by 8:30 am. This month our collection is going to Hands for Homeless, who feeds hundreds of needy residents every week. They even go out to the cardboard camps in the woods and find those who are living in their cars. Some of these folks are Veterans.

Special requests are for pop-top cans of protein-rich foods, canned chicken or hash, stew, or hearty soups. Dried pasta, beans, and rice. Peanut butter and jelly, and healthy cereals. Toiletries go fast and they can always use toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo, toothpaste, and toothbrushes.

We have so much, and there is so very much need. Please be generous. We still collect from the Outback.
