Whoever said there was nothing going on in the Clubhouse must have been looking in the outback-house. The Dance Committee has a fall-winter line up that stretches to the last day of the year and beyond.  So, get up off that recliner and into your golfcart. Take a ride around the circle and look ‘up’ for all the signs telling you about the entertainment offered here in Tanglewood. You might stop by the clubhouse and pick up a copy of the dance schedules. But you’re reading this now so here we go…

The next scheduled dance is on Saturday, September 21st inside the clubhouse featuring a local band “Calico“. Several of the band members actually live here in Tanglewood. You can’t get any more local than that. 

October 12th will be filled with ‘movement’ as the Dance committee has wrangled in country artist, Lee Alcorn. One of my personal favorites. Lee sings country, but he also throws in a little gospel once in awhile. Good man, Great Band.  October also holds the record as hosting one of the two biggest dances of the season. On Saturday, October 26th, none other than Tony Motown Knight will be entertaining for our Annual HALLOWEEN Dance & Costume Contest.  Costumes are optional, but you must wear something! The prizes and the fun will be spooktacular. (I had to get one phrase in).

Now onto November which brings to mind craft shows, garage sale, and yes, a dance right in the middle of the month. Saturday, Nov. 23rd the band called ‘Bandana‘ will be performing in the clubhouse. You will probably need a break to prepare for the insanely crazy holiday rush. Why not go to the dance with some friends. Eat, Drink, be merry. Sorry, that’s for next month.

This brings us to December, the last month of the year. It will no doubt be busy with friends and family. Other Christmas parties, food, gift wrapping…until it’s nearly over… Probably on Christmas Day, there will be peace and quiet inside the clubhouse. But on December 31st it will be decorated to the nine’s for our biggest dance on New Year’s Eve as Tony Motown Knight returns to entertain us as we celebrate the new year…2025! This dance begins at 8:00pm and ends at 12:30am. 

January 11, 2025 we go outside to the Bash Area from 3-6pm featuring “Deb & the Dynamics”.  Finally, February arrives and we go back into the clubhouse on February 22, 2025 with Paisley Craze. 

Life is way to short for all of us living here. We’ve missed our chance to die young. But there are a few shortcuts to Happiness and Dancing is one of them.  Show us your Happy Dance!
