Grateful Hearts (Part 5)
“Gratitude That Overflows to Others”
2 Corinthians 9:6–15
Introduction: It’s the Sunday after Thanksgiving. But does that mean Thanksgiving over… or has it just begun? Because, for the believer, thanksgiving was never meant to be a single day. It’s meant to become a lifestyle—a pattern of the heart that overflows into action.

The Grateful Life
Luke 17:11–19
Gratitude is the mark of a life transformed by Jesus.
Introduction: We instinctively expect people to say, “thank you.” Unexpressed gratitude often feels like ingratitude. Jesus healed ten lepers, but only one returned to say thanks (Luke 17:17). This story shows us that God notices our gratitude. True transformation leads to expressed thanksgiving. Let’s learn how to be “the one who returned.”

Gratitude for God’s Goodness
Psalm 103:1–5
Introduction: We often forget our blessings and dwell on what’s wrong. Psalm 103 is David’s remedy—he speaks to his soul, reminding himself to “Bless the Lord” and “forget not all His benefits.” When we reflect on God’s goodness, gratitude naturally grows.

The Foundation of Gratitude
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18
Big Idea: Gratitude is God’s will for every believer.
Theme: Gratitude isn’t a seasonal choice but a continual lifestyle.
Application: Develop daily habits of thanksgiving regardless of circumstances.
Introduction: Thanksgiving is more than a holiday—it’s a habit of the heart. Charles Spurgeon said, “Thanksgiving is one of the best ways to keep yourselves in spiritual health.” Paul commands: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances…” (1 Thess. 5:16-18). Gratitude is the foundation of a thriving Christian life—living “in the overflow” of God’s grace.
