(Tanglewood Master Activities Committee)
TMAC’s Annual Meeting was on Wednesday, January 21st. It was a two-part meeting.
Part 1: Presidential Election held at 2:30 pm. The newly elected Chairman from Monday’s election had their first taste of how TMAC was going to run by voting in their new President and Vice President. TMAC Bylaws state the President must be a fulltime resident and the Vice President could be either fulltime or seasonal. This year, one Chairman stated he would accept a nomination for President. Steve Batey, was nominated and elected to be President for 2026-27 season. This will be his second consecutive term. Steve Sykes was elected as Vice President. There were no other nominations for either position.
Part 2: The Annual Meeting scheduled for 3pm. This is the last official meeting of the ‘current’ chairman. They spoke of their accomplishments for the past year and also introduced their newly elected chairs who were sitting beside them at the meeting.
There are six new chairman on the board of directors. Bingo’s longtime chair, Richard Baldoff, retired after twelve years as chair. The committee elected Teresa Taylor as their new chair. The Glass Shop also has a new chairman, Andrea Siebert, Model Yacht Club’s newest chairman is Mike Gray. Table Games changed leadership with Barb Boxer returning as chairman. The Welcome committee, said goodbye to Mary Lee Cipriano, who also retired her position as chairman since 2020. She introduced the ‘Welcome Gala’ which became quite successful for all committees wanting new members. Their new chairman is Jennifer Burress helped at the Gala which was Friday, January 23rd from 1-3pm in the main clubhouse. Diversions now has a new chairman, Pat Phillips, who hosted the Bras for Life event last fall.
The first meeting with the new TMAC Board of Directors is February 18th at 3pm in the Clubhouse.
Good luck to all the committees. It is good to see new faces with new ideas for keeping TMAC up to date in their activities.
