TMAC’s Newest Addition

Published on

Tanglewood Master Activities Committee (TMAC) is organized exclusively for the purpose of financing and promoting recreational activities at Tanglewood.  This year, we are off to a great start with new faces and new ideas!

TMAC added six new chairmen to the Board of Directors. The results show how new residents have not only taken an interest in TMAC’s committees, they want to join in and become a part of the leadership. One such resident is Theresa Taylor. She is the new BINGO Chair, replacing Richard Balduff who was chair for twelve years. Richard is still attending BINGO, and has said he is quite proud of the new officers in his committee. He’s now enjoying his ‘second’ retirement. Andrea Siebert is another new chairman, now over the Glass Shop. She asked important questions at the meeting and has great ideas for the Glass Shop.  Mike Gray was elected chairman of the Tanglewood Model Yacht Club. He wants residents to become more aware of the boat racing that takes place by the Dream Catcher Pond. He’s looking for flags and signs to advertise.  Barb Boxer is Table Games newest chairman. Last year they increased their variety of board games by adding Aggravation. With new boards arriving soon they will not turn anyone away from playing. Jennifer Burress is now Chair over the Welcome Committee after Mary Lee Cipriano retired her position as chairman since 2020. Mary Lee  was instrumental in demonstrating how a committee that didn’t have a means to make money, did so,  by taking over the ‘Bargain Basement’ items at the annual garage sale. They raised over $600 which helped them to finance their  ‘Annual Gala’ in a unique style that year. Jennifer and new Vice Chair, Dawn Priestley, along with other new officers will be hosting the Bargain Basement section again this year wit a few new ideas of their own. Pat Phillips, AKA the ‘Bras for Hope’ lady, is now chairman over Diversions. We can hardly wait to see what new ideas she has for this committee. The re-elected chairs also expressed new plans for another season with their committees. They too, have mentioned changes and new ideas.

At Wednesday’s TMAC meeting, President Steve Batey and Vice President Steve Sykes presented their plans for the upcoming year. To the early birds who attend Monday Coffee, there will be big changes and a few laughs beginning in March. The Executive Board, Finance Committee, and Advisory Committee members were also appointed by President Batey and approved by the board.

TMAC is off to a great start for this new year. Next month’s meeting, March 18th at 3pm in the Clubhouse, will reveal even more interesting changes in store for everyone. All residents are welcome to attend and even have a voice at the end of the meeting.
