BINGO, Lianne Mills, Chair
On April 6th 2026 we came together for a bingo meeting at 525 pm were a motion was made by Barb butcher to elect Janet Peterson vice chair of bingo motion was second by Sharon and Janet Peterson accepted the vice chair position there were 12 other members present at the time who all said yes to this and she was voted in. THANKS Lianne Mills

COMPUTER CLUB, Jeff Lorian, Chair – Verbal Met last Friday. Talked about scams that are targeting Seniors. Increasing. Advised if still using Windows 10, change to 11 immediately. Windows 10 is no longer secure or supported.

COUNTRY BREAKFAST, Steve Sykes, Chair
Will be having a breakfast this coming Saturday, April 18th and one more in May. We are shutting down for the Summer, (June July and August.)

DANCE, Robin Meyers, Chair
Our March fundraiser was a success. A lot of good feedback. Our April dance will have a hoe down theme but so far, we haven’t sold any tickets, and the dance is 10days out.

DECORATING, Gail Wooley, Chair -Verbal (Decorated the stage for BBB and made arrangements for the Potluck).

DIVERSIONS REPORT for April – May TMAC, Pat Phillips, Chair
Sevens had 19 players on May 11 and plans to continue playing throughout the summer on the second, fourth and fifth Mondays at 1 p.m. in the Community Room, including Memorial Day, May 25th. A version of Trivia is currently being for the summer.
Bean Bag Baseball open play begins in mid-August. Planning for Fall and Holiday seasons committees are organizing over the summer.

GENEALOGY, Marianne Jones, Chair – Verbal Met April 1 for a meeting. Have concluded for the season and will meet again November 4th.

GLASS ARTS SHOP – Andrea Siebert, Chair April 2026 monthly report
Our last meeting of the year was Tuesday 03/24/2026. Steve Batey presented the new TMAC vision and fielded questions from the membership. A Beginners Fused Glass Class started on 04/01/2026 and will conclude on 04/22/2026.
Two Stained Glass workshops were held in the past week and members created various items to be donated to the Fall Craft and Hobby Fair. We have reserved 2 tables to present our sale items. Also, the Glass Arts shop will host the Kitchen. Refreshments for sale to be determined and discussed at our 1st meeting in the Fall.
Our new fund-raiser offering aprons and tote bags to our members is still going well. The Glass Arts Shop will facilitate June 1, 2026, MMC.

LIBRARY, Wendell Crouch, Chair
Due to the tragic loss of Mary Cousins, Wendell Crouch, the Vice-Chairman will fill in as the temporary Chairman. The Library committee is planning on having a special meeting on April 23rd to decide how to fill the Chairman and Vice-Chairman roles.
Last month the Library requested input to purchase some new books based on the good fundraising efforts of the spring garage sale which left the Library with a balance of $1,025.51. The Library officers met and selected 5 books which Mary ordered using her Amazon account. When these books are delivered, the Library will take possession and reimburse Wayne Cousins.

MODEL YACHT CLUB, Mike Way, Chair
Our awards ceremony was held on 03/23/2026 with Pizza and beer. 12 plaques were awarded 1, 2 & 3rd place for each of the 4 sailing fleets. The yacht club will be in recess until November.

MONDAY MORNING COFFEE, Polly Grant, Chair -verbal (reduced our donut order down to 16 dozen and will continue to reduce as people are returning up North. Thankful to her replacement Steve and Irene Sykes for filling in during her absence. She will be stepping down at the end of this season, but will continue with the sponsors if the new chair doesn’t want that responsibility.

POTLUCK, Jeff Nauman, Chair
We met last night, April 14th with very good attendance, which was very good for this time of year with 75 people attending. Plenty of food to go around. Our 50/50 was $160 with $80 going to the winner. We had several donated door prizes along with the one’s potluck provided. Interior Decorating did an amazing job decorating our tables with an Easter theme. Next committee meeting will be May 1st at 11am in the Tanglewood Suite if anyone would like to attend. This will be the last monthly meeting until fall. Shirley Kabet will be running Potluck throughout the Summer depending on how many people we have sign up.

PETANQUE, Gary Braun, Chair
Pétanque Tournament Winners from April 4th, 2026
On April 4th, 2026, we held our Pétanque Tournament with Forty-Eight players. During intermission players were served hotdogs, chips, and water.

Congrats to all the tournament winners, 50/50 winners and other door prize winners. A special thanks to all the volunteers that continue to make this event possible. If you’re new to Tanglewood or just never played Pétanque before, come on out and try it. Our next Tournament will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026. Hope to see you there.
Winter Schedule: 1:00PM Monday-Saturday; Mondays and Thursdays at 10:00AM.
New Player Clinics are available at 12:45PM Monday-Saturday. We also have equipment for first-time players to try before they buy. Who knows, your name might be among the tournament winners next month.

SHUFFLEBOARD, Pat Parks, Chair -Verbal (tournaments have ended for the season. We play all summer, Mon-Fri at 10am until May then begin at 8:30am.

SPECIAL EVENTS, Nola Bernstein, Chair -Verbal (last show was Beach Buoys, went well. Next show will be in November with Woodstock. Asking everyone to dress up like you all went to Woodstock.)

SPECIAL MEALS, Dara Nesbitt, Chair – Verbal Had nothing to report. Will resume in November.

TABLE GAMES, BARB BOXER, Chair – We run throughout the summer and all year long. Bunko is doing well. Euchre, in the Activity bldg. is running out of tables. Asked if we have to buy them.

TANGLEWOOD DOG, Sandra McMennamy – Verbal Was in Hawaii at daughter’s wedding so missed last meeting. Had a person from the Dog Park in Avon Park, Kolleen. She was informative and would like her to return. Would like for her to give lessons. Need permission from HTA. Our last meeting will be May 8th. Next meeting will be Nov 13th. Reminder of the Halloween Costume contest.

TECH SUPPORT, Gary Friar, Vice Chair
The Tech Crew has experienced a significant reduction in its members, with half of the team lost due to illness or members returning to their homes up north. Currently, the summer staff consists of seven active and relatively healthy Tech volunteer members. Chairman John Lemek is continuing his recovery from heart surgery. He has announced plans to head north in June. During the April meeting, the committee voted to transfer ten percent of its gross earnings from 2025 back into the General Fund TMAC Account. The summer roster and the May schedule for upcoming events will be posted soon. Committee members and event organizers are encouraged to check if their events are listed. If an event is missing from the posted schedule, please consult with AnnMarie first. Schedules are posted on the bulletin board just inside the doorway.

TENNIS    report for 4-15-2026, Gerry Bentley, chair. We are playing Monday, Wednesday & Friday @9:30 till the end of April.  Changes for the summer may occur.  We need more players. All residents & guests are welcome.  We have racquets & balls available for everyone.  Lessons are available for beginners & all levels. We are a fun group We had our end of season pizza party @ Market 27 Monday.  No need to sign up to play or watch. Just come to the courts during play time.

TRIPS & TRAVEL, Mary Hohensee, Treasurer -Verbal (finished last trip of the season the first of April with a dinner cruise in Ft Lauderdale. Pausing ticket sales for the summer months.

TWRTIMES.COM, Shirley Kabet, Chair
Our Missing Medallion contest occupied our minds this month. In the end, and after 2 months of biweekly clues, we discovered that the Medallion was NOT where Dave Dinger had hidden it in February. No one has turned it in for the prize, so we distributed the prize money to the players who reported how far they got in the Quest. We will plan another Quest for the fall if Dave is willing. We will be starting a new feature in our newsletter, listing the new books that come into the Tanglewood Library.

WELCOME COMMITTEE, Jennifer Burress, Chair
Welcome Packets – Welcome packet review is ongoing. Groups/committees have been asked to provide a one-page summary/flyer to be included in the packets. Also asked for state party flyers. Unable to use a door hanger as the park considers it solicitation. Park suggested we develop a postcard to send to new residents.

Welcome Visits – Dates have been booked as follows: May 22 at 12:30 pm/ September 21 at 10:30 am. November 20th at 3:30 pm. Need volunteers to attend. Fundraiser Ideas – File for Life Cards – sell at Monday Morning Coffee/Thursday ticket sales. Potentially use as give a way to new residents. Pottsy Flower raffle. Raffle off a housecleaning or power washing package. 50/50 at the Gala.

WOOD SHOP – Steve Batey, Chair
We had our April meeting, and we voted to raise our dues to $30 per year in anticipation of paying our pay to TMAC general fund and the increased maintenance cost we are experiencing. As many of our members have left for the season, we are also suspending meetings until October.
