Second Tuesday Food Drive

Published on

Yes, the second Tuesday comes early in September.  Please help us on September 8 by setting out a sack of non-perishable foods and/or hygiene supplies.  Our volunteers will be out at 9:00 to collect your donations from your driveway.  We do collect from the Outback too.

This month our goodies will go to Hands for Homeless, probably the largest food pantry in our area.  They ask for pop-top cans of hearty soups, veggies, pasta meals, and proteins like tuna and chicken, Spam, chili, and stews.  Healthy cereals, peanut butter and jelly fly off their shelves every week. Bottled water is very much needed. Hands for Homeless delivers food to shut-ins, multi-generational families, and those living in their cars and cardboard shelters.  Those folks lucky enough to have a home with a kitchen appreciate dried pasta and beans, rice, grits, flour, and sugar.

Toothpaste and toothbrushes, toilet paper, hand soap, shampoo and disposable razors are also given out.  If it’s something you use, someone needs it.  Please help out as much as you can.  And God bless our abundance and your generosity.
