Special Food Drive – Friday Kid’s Pak
We’re partnering with A Heart Like His Foundation to support their Friday Kid’s Pak Program with a special food drive on Wednesday, October 28th.Sadly, there are children right here in Highlands County who don’t have enough food to eat over the weekend. Without proper nutrition, it can be difficult for them to concentrate and do their best in school.
These children receive meals at school during the week, but many leave school on Friday not knowing when they will have their next meal. School counselors identify children who are at risk of food insecurity, and the Friday Kid’s Pak Program helps provide them with food for the weekend.
Each Friday Kid’s Pak contains single-serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner items, along with an easy-to-prepare family meal. The food is placed in a sealed bag and discreetly sent home in the child’s backpack by a school administrator every Friday during the school year.
How You Can Help
Please consider purchasing some of the following items and have them out on your driveway by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 28th for collection
Most-needed items:
Single-serve small cereals
Single-serve fruit cups
Single-serve snacks, such as granola bars and cheese crackers
Single-serve juice boxes
Single-serve pop-top cans of tuna, SpaghettiOs, Beef-a-Roni, beef stew, etc. (Most needed!)
If you don’t have time to go shopping, monetary donations are also greatly appreciated.
Let’s come together as a community and help A Heart Like His Foundation keep their pantry stocked and make sure these children have food to take home each weekend.
Thank you for your generosity and for helping make a difference in the lives of local children!
THANK YOU!!!
