Tumid Tu-mid Adjective 1: marked by swelling : swollen, enlarged 2: protuberant, bulging 3: bombastic, turgid I suffer from severe lymphedema so both of my legs are tumid. Naturally it comes from Latin, but first shows up in English with the first meaning above in 1541!
