The folks over at Special Events are excited to present an upcoming concert by the Beach Boys tribute band, The Beach Buoys, and it’s shaping up to be a fantastic evening of music, memories, and good company. Whether you grew up with these classic tunes or just love that easy, feel-good endless summer sound, this concert is guaranteed to have you smiling, tapping your feet, and maybe even singing along.

I saw the Beach Boys in the late 60’s in Palisades Park, NJ. I don’t remember exactly what year because, well, it was the 60’s. Later, when I was foolish enough to spend time in Corporate America, I also had the pleasure of hiring the Beach Boys to perform at a charity benefit in 2006. Notice I nailed the year. There were only two members of the original band left performing but the music was still magic. I have been listening to The Beach Buoys, and they do a great job capturing the spirit and energy of the original Beach Boys, playing all the favorites you know and love. Think warm harmonies, surf rock rhythms, and songs that instantly take you back to the days when Detroit built cars you could actually write songs about.

I’ll write a review after the show, and even though I am an extraordinarily talented raconteur, it will be nowhere near as good as seeing and hearing the real thing.
