This big cake is a good keeper if you keep it covered.
CINNAMON CAKE BARSΒ –
1 1/3 Cups butter,
4 Cups brown sugar
4 Cups flour
2 Tablespoons cinnamon
2 Teaspoons baking powder
1/2 Teaspoon baking soda
4 eggs
4 Teaspoons vanilla
Melt the butter and sugar together,Β then let cool slightly so you don’t cook the eggs when you add them.
Whisk the dry ingredients together.Β Beat the eggs and vanilla together, then beat into the butter/sugar mix.Β Add the dry ingredients and mix well.
Heat oven to 350*.Β Bake in a 13×9″ pan, greased and floured.Β Start checking for doneness at 30 minutes.Β Melt 1-2 Tablespoons butter and brush over warm cake.Β Sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar,Β let cool.
Note:Β If you halve all the ingredients you can use a 9″ square pan.Β But then you only have half a cake, and once you sample this recipe you’ll want a whole big cake.
