On March 28 Deputy Ryan from the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office gave a very informative talk about the K-9 Unit. He brought his very friendly bloodhound named K-9 Hank, a single person tracking dog.
He also demonstrated the Scent Preservation Kit that helps K-9 responders quickly locate lost autistic children and family members with Alzheimer’s disease who may be a high risk for wandering. This kit can be obtained at the Sheriff’s Office, and they will help administer it.
The talk was well attended in the BASH area by 48 people, followed by a potluck gathering. Another fun and educational day sponsored by the Tanglewood D.O.G. !
Our next meeting is on April 11, new members welcome! Or if you just want information about this bunch of friendly dogs and their people, come!
