How In This World Am I Gifted Spiritually?
(1 Peter 4:10)
Introduction: The Holy Spirit does not just live in us and do for us in this world. The Holy Spirit desires to work through us in this world. Peter writes to every believer when he says, the Holy Spirit has done something special for every believer – YOU ARE GIFTED! Every believer is gifted for some special function in the body of Christ.

How in This World Can I Grow Up Spiritually?
(2 Peter 3:18)
Introduction: When a medical prognosis is given, a patient is better able to prepare himself for what is ahead or if possible, even correct himself. Peter is similarly, giving a spiritual prognosis in (2 Peter 3:17,18). To paraphrase, Peter is saying; “Growing up spiritually” is the best defense against falling down in this world”
If we are to benefit from his advice, we must see three things that are revealed in this passage.

Introduction: In scripture the Holy Spirit is often referred to as fire. (Isa. 4:4; Mt.3:11; Acts 2:3-4) It is when the Holy Spirit is at work in the life of the believer that he senses a warmth of love in his heart, a light for his mind and the energy or power to put away sin and do the will of God in this world. It is this effective work of the Holy Spirit that Paul warns against hindering. Because “all spiritual quitters, are first, Spirit quenchers.” So, how do we keep the Holy Spirit’s fire burning in us?

How in This World can I “Walk by the Spirit?”

The term “walk” is an expression from the Hebrew language which, means, “to conduct one’s life.” (Gen. 6:9; Mt. 4:19-20; Gal. 5:16)

Introduction: There are many challenges facing Christians in this world today. But as hard as it can be to live the Christian life in this world, we have been given a helper to enable our success.
As the time drew near for Jesus to finish the work which He came to do. He spent His last hours of His earthly ministry with His disciples in an upper room, telling them and us the most transforming truth any believer can ever get a hold of. Which is the truth about the Holy Spirit. Jesus had a great deal to say about the Holy Spirit in His Upper Room message, because apart from the help of the Holy Spirit of God, we cannot live the Christian life in this world as God would have us live it. We must know who the Holy Spirit is, what He does, and how He does it. So, let’s listen in as Jesus teaches us these three things.

Introduction: We don’t have to look far to see we are living in a troubled time and world. The things people want most shouldn’t surprise us in a world full of trouble. But isn’t it amazing the very things people (all people) admire the most, God desires to give us first. The Bible tells us these things are the very characteristics of a “Spiritual (or Spirit-filled) Christian.” So, if these are the same things you want out of life in a troubled world, the answer seems to be – we must become “Spiritual” or Spirit-filled. The question becomes, “How can I be spiritual In This World?”
