The tallest Easter Bunny on record, Gary Briggs, was centerstage at the Tanglewood clubhouse last night, with his dancing, hamming it up and offering treats and humor. Other highlights from the talented, Way-Off Broadway residents were the energetic and comical, “Honey Bun” performed by the effervescent, Kathy “Kat” Miller who danced and sang with her honey bun, Sean Elder. Kat was born to grace the stage.
We were all delighted by an outstanding performance of “All I Ask of You” by Soprano, Joyce Wheaton and Tony Honeycutt. Joyce’s operatic skills and Tom strong, melodic voice presented a magical, romantic duet. Other treats were Margie Thomas’s beautiful voice, reminiscent of Karen Carpenter. She performed, “Beautiful in My Eyes” I did not want to end. There were many stellar performances including, Judith Eckstein’s, “What a Wonderful World” and a surprise ending where entire cast treated us to “The Easter Parade.”
Tom McKeever emceed with perfection and Mary Jane Disco and Gail McKeever created and directed a fun show with many of our favorite love songs! Thank you to all the cast who sang their hearts out, danced and practiced for many hours to perform for a thankful audience. All this for $5! I can’t wait to see their next show!
