There will be a few changes in the Tech booth when the clubhouse reopens later this week.
The side door to enter the Tech booth is now closed permanently thanks to Hometown America’s Maintenance crew who are hard at work creating the new look also on the inside of the booth. With the side door entrance now closed it will open up additional counter space. Therefore, yours truly, aka power point person, can remain inside the booth instead of outside the door during events.
This will also open up viewing space for the audience and create a sound barrier within the Tech Crew walls. It’s still a small area inside, but during seasonal events, a full crew usually consists of at least three inside the booth, one on top, and several more scattered throughout the building. It is a good change that we have all been waiting patiently for over two years to have completed. Thank you to our Park Manager, Angi, for expediting this improvement to accommodate our Tech Team.
Within the past year, thanks to donations from other committees and residents who ask for our free services, several equipment upgrades have been ongoing. The cameras have been upgraded, two mover lights are a new addition and there are plans for LED lighting upgrades.
The Tech Request sheets will be moved to the window beside Annemarie’s work area. You will need her approval first to get the clubhouse reserved, then complete our form by checking the equipment you would like to have at your event.
The Tech snowbirds usually begin their winter flight back to Tanglewood between September and October. The Tech support committee currently has six full-time tech staff members. Four men and two women. Although, in July both female techies left Tanglewood to visit family, leaving the ‘men’ to fend for themselves. It was great timing to get this project started. The expected completion date should be Saturday, July 25th since there is a dance scheduled for that night. Stop by and see the new look.
It’s been awhile since there was a dance, so come on out Saturday from 7-10pm in the clubhouse. Bring your own drinks and snacks to share. The dance committee will supply all the music and fun. ‘Sweet Baby Luv’ is the name of the band. doors open at 6:30pm.
