Leaving a Legacy of God’s Best

Psalms 145:4

Introduction: Today we conclude our sermon series, “The best is yet to Come” We know our best life will be in eternity with the Lord. But in this series, I have been sharing with you steps we can take to realize the abundant life Jesus promised us we can have here and now.

Today I want to talk about how we can leave a legacy behind for others to follow so they too can know this life.

“A lasting spiritual legacy isn’t just about what we leave behind, it’s about how we live out our faith today.”

One of the important obligations of the older generation is to pass on to the younger generation the truth about the Lord. Whether we admit it or not, every local church is one generation short of extinction. Leaving a legacy of faith means we actively pass down the goodness of God to the next generation. So, the question is, how do we do that?

God’s Best in Every Season  (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8; Romans 8:28)

Introduction: Today, we’re going to talk about something we all experience: seasons. I’m not talking about winter, spring, summer, and fall. I’m talking about the seasons of life. Some are filled with sunshine and joy, others with storms and trials, but through it all, God remains faithful. No matter what season of life we are in— God is in control, working all things for our good, teaching us contentment in Christ, and calling us to stay rooted in His Word so that we may bear fruit in every season. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8, the preacher reminds us that “to everything, there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”  No matter what season you are in, God has a purpose for it. And then in Romans 8:28, Paul assures us that “all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to His purpose.” So, with these two things in mind, how we can experience God’s best in every season of life? By doing the following three things…

Introduction: We all desire a life of meaning, fulfillment, and significance. God has not created us to live aimlessly, but rather to live abundant lives and to walk in His divine purpose and power. Isaiah 61:1-3 and Acts 1:8 reveal that God’s anointing equips us to impact others and bring His kingdom to earth.

Today, I want us to explore how walking in His purpose and power transforms our lives and the lives of those around us. Walking in purpose and power means living under God’s anointing, being empowered by the Holy Spirit, and intentionally serving others to fulfill His mission and bring His kingdom to earth.

Introduction: Many Christians today, are carrying weights we don’t need, and they’re holding us back from God’s best.

The weight of sin, fear, and distractions hinder us from having the abundant life God promises. Overcoming these barriers requires putting off these weights, focusing on Christ and the renewing of the mind. How does this work?

“Obedience to God is the key to unlocking His blessings, demonstrating our love, and walking in faith.” It is the pathway to our best life, and abundant life on earth.

Introduction: The story of Abraham’s journey of obedience is a powerful example of faith and trust in God. All of us need reminding, just like Abraham, we are called to a life of obedience to God which in turn will unlock His blessings upon us.
