Neil Diamond

Sweet Caroline

Oh, Sweet Caroline… If you didn’t attend the Sunday night Special Events featuring the Solitary Man, AKA Tribute to Neil Diamond, you really missed a fantastic show.  He had just as great a performance as last year if not better.  During intermission you could hear some of the residents talking about his voice. ‘If you close your eyes, you’d swear it was the real Neil Diamond up on that stage.’ The saxophone player was phenomenal as he answered the duet from ‘You don’t bring me flowers’ with that sexy breathtakingly long reply.

As the songs were sung, the audience could occasionally view scenes from the original Neil Diamond concerts on the big screen. Our tribute singer had the exact moves as the video during one particular song. You had to look twice to see who you were watching live!

He worked the audience from beginning to end, and had them begging for yet ‘one more encore’! You knew he would save Sweet Caroline for last, even though he said Brother Love was his last song. But that grin gave him away as he turned from the audience for just a split second and started to leave the stage. Then his infamous drummer, along with the rest of this fabulous band played a few familiar notes, and as the crowd rose from their seats, he turned back to face his fans as he began to sing…”Where it began, I can’t begin to know when….”.  OMG! You will be singing that song now for the rest of the day. Sweet Caroline…Baum, Baum, Baum……

Special thank you to the Special Events volunteers who helped make this one of their best shows of the season.

Good Times never felt so good…..so good…so good…………so…                                       good!
