There was also applause for our Resident Sponsors:  Surfer Rick DJ & Karaoke, Girls’ Night Out, Carol Evans, Steve & Pam Batey, Evie Fosella, Bob Larocque & Bartley Rodgers, John & Kay Lemek, Tom McKeever, Bill Rulli, Donna Scorse and Sharon Weatherhead.

In addition to the monetary sponsors, Donna also paid tribute to the many, many volunteers who work to make each show possible.  Specifically, the Kitchen Crew under the direction of Nola Bernstein, the Tech Crew, all Special Events committee members, and Artie Nichols, everyone’s favorite doorman, who was given a gift card to a men’s shop for his unflagging courtesy and attendance at every event.

But what about the show itself, you ask.  It was loud.  Very, very loud.  The band started out with the Bee Gee’s early hits, “I Started a Joke”, “Too Much Heaven”, “Words”, and “Massachusetts”, which brought out the “Zippo lighters, or just your cell phone”.

The music was interspersed with bits of Bee Gees history, and some humor.  The guys had some great breath control, and if you were sitting up front you were undoubtedly impressed by their very shiny, polished black shoes.  You can tell these guys are professional by their shiny shoes.

The second half of the show was the more modern, disco-y stuff from the 70’s.  “Grease”, “How Deep is your Love”, “Jive Talking” and their first encore song was  the EMT’s favorite, “Stayin’ Alive”.  If you don’t get that reference, ask Pam about it.  And while you’re talking to Pam, be sure to compliment her on her fancy work on the big screens.
