Update Your Voting Status

We’re all sick of all the political ads and news programs, and are more than ready to be done with the election. Or are we?

Are you ready?  Here’s what you need to know:  The last day to register in Highlands County OR change your party affiliation is October 7.  You can update your address or do a name change on line.  Don’t wait until Election Day.

The last day to request a mail-in ballot is October 24.  Remember, they don’t mail them out automatically anymore.  Even if you’ve been voting by mail for years you must request a ballot.

You can also preview the Constitutional Amendments that may appear on the ballot, by logging in to votehighlands.com.  You can see and print a Sample Ballot here.

Early Voting starts on Thursday, October 24 and continues until November 2.

For Early Voting you can go to any of the three Early Vote Centers:  The Penny Ogg Operations Center, 4504 Kenilworth, or the Avon Park City Hall,  125 East Pine St,  or the Lake Placid Government Center,  1069 US 27 North, Lake Placid.  The polls are open from 8:30 – 4:30.  You can also drop off a completed Mail In Ballot during Early Voting.

Our polling place is the Church of Christ on Sebring Parkway.  The date is Tuesday, November 5,  7 AM – 7 PM.  On November 5 this is the only place for Tanglewood to vote.  You cannot drop off a Main-In ballot at the poll on Election Day.  You need to take it to the Government Center downtown so it is received before 7 PM.
